I personally like to find characters in media that are either canon or coded necrophiles since I often struggle with finding actual community for it, has anyone here ever seen any good canon necro characters in media (could be books, shows, movies, games, etc.)? I'd be interested if there's any actual canon representation of necros in media, particularly that isn't overly negative towards it; though I do doubt that there's much out there that doesn't depict it negatively, if there's much that depicts it at all. I'd also be interested if there's any characters that aren't explicitly necro but coded to be that way, or any characters that are personally headcanoned as necro for whatever reason.

I've never come across any characters literature or the media. We are considered so far down the food chain that even if they were inclined to represent us in print, the author/writer would himself be ostracized. Which is fine by me. Knowing what society would think of me, I'm content to dwell unseen in my private brotherhood, communing with those who also lust after dead and dying young men. Doesn't bother me a bit to have to hide. I found CDG and you. I'm happy with you. Here, I can view pics and vids, and dream my fantasies.

That's fair, I notice that necros are often either highly stigmatized or just completely ignored in media and discussions (I assume because anyone who writes positively of it, as you said, would likely be highly ostracized themselves). Over time I've mostly found a decent lot of music thats explicitly or implied about being necro/necro relationships, which is why I was curious if there's much in other types of media for it, though I haven't found much in my search (which, admittedly, doesn't surprise me). I do agree that CDG is great, though, it's fairly rare to find sites for this kind of thing that actually stay up on the internet for long these days.

there is a reason necros are stigmatized and ignored in media. what we enjoy is sick, and should not be normalised. maybe a hot take to say in a necro forum but i honestly think this niche fetish should stay niche and between people who are actively seeking it out. we dont need media attention, we will never be portrayed in a positive light and for good reason IRL. The reason CDG is still up is likely that there is no illegal things hosted on this site and that the site is paid/ invite only. But if you are looking for a book from the point of view of a necrophile, not sure what "coded" means here, but "Exquisite Corpse" 1996 by Poppy Z Brite has been good in the necro point of view, although there are some espects of the book which i do not particularly like. All in all it was reccomended to me by a friend and is a good necro book. there are necro sex scenes too.

The last thing I want is media attention. Let me live with you in my dark, dank, stimulating, necro trench.

That's fair, I understand the perspective of wanting to stay more niche or not wanting more widespread normalization. Though I'd generally disagree with not wanting it normalized, I do understand why someone wouldn't want that as well as the risks and issues involved with trying to normalize it on a societal level anyway. I also do appreciate the book suggestion; I'll have to check it out when I get the chance!

I found some parts of Gabrielle Wittkops "The Necrophiliac" (wonder what that story could be about? Hmm!) Really sad and relatable. Specifically how he gets attached to some of his lovers and is miserable when he has to let them go. The narrator is deeply mentally ill, and all too human. It's all fun and games until you get your heart broken by a cadaver 💔

As you stated they're pretty rare. The only one that I can think of off the top of my head is Lionel Starkweather from Manhunt and he's the games main antagonist. If you want neutral/positive necro rep you're gonna have to dig REALLY deep.
