I just watched a BBC documentary from 2010 called "Between Life and Death" about young people from the UK who got brain damaged after road accidents.

It was horrible because even though they survive the initial trauma to the body their brains cannot recover and they became trapped in a vegetative state or worse in "Locked-in Syndrome"

If you become trapped, and doctors asked you if you were ready to die or live paralyzed what will your reaction be?

I would decide to die, no doubt about that. We have to be brave.

The film is tough but also educational so I recommend it to all interested in the topic.

We have to be brave and face the end with dignity, I would say my goodbyes to family and friends and go to sleep but yeah that young cute paralyzed guy obviously wasn't ready for that.

Horrible documentary, very hard to watch.

Watch "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" and/or read the book by Jean-Dominique Bauby, who was a victim of "locked-in syndrome" and wrote the book entirely by blinking his left eye and someone recorded it down letter by letter. I think it's a beautiful book (I own it) and a great movie version.
