2010 is the hottest year on record, absolutely no doubt about that.
The Northern hemisphere is currently baking in what is by all accounts the worst heatwave to strike several continents simultaneously.

And the national meterological institute issued a dire prediction for my country - temperature above 40'C in August and complete drought.
This comes after severe flooding which killed more than 50 people in April and May.
And if this weren't enough CNN published a story that NASA has released information that 30% of the Earth's thermosphere has disappeared.
