GENERAL SANTOS CITY - Anim na ang patay habang siyam ang sugatan sa banggaan ng passenger van at boomtruck sa Lumuyon Kiamba, Sarangani.
Kinumpirma ni Chief Insp. Richard Ybañez, hepe ng Kiamba Municipal Police station, na head-on collission ang nangyari sa dalawang sasakyan nang magkasalubong ito kahapon ng hapon.
Hindi naman nagpalabas ng mga pangalan ng biktima ang pulisya habang nagpapatuloy ang imbestigasyon.
Pauwi umano ng Kiamba poblacion ang boomtruck na minamaneho ni Gregorio Hombrog nang biglang masalubong ang passenger van na papuntang GenSan.
Dahil sa lakas ng impact, apat kaagad ang dead-on-the-spot habang dinala sa Tiburcio Hospital sa Kiamba ang 11 biktima.
Subalit kagabii binawian ng buhay ang driver ng boomtruck na si Hombrog habang ginagamot ito sa Mindanao Medical Center sa GenSan.
Nalaman na palaging umuulan sa lugar na pinangyarihan ng insidente.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION
GENERAL SANTOS CITY - Six were killed while nine were injured in a collision between passenger van and boomtruck in Lumuyon, Kiama, Sarangani.

Chief Insp. Richard Ybañez, chief of Kiamba Municipal Police station, confirmed that a head-on collision happened between two vehicales yesterday afternoon [May 18, 2016].

The victims' names are not yet released while the investigation is ongoing

The boomtruck driven by Gregorio Hombrog was leaving the Kiamba town proper when he suddenly encountered the passenger van, which was going to General Santos.

Due to strong impact, four were immediately killed while 11 victims were brought to Tiburcio Hospital in Kiamba.

However last night Hombrog died while being treated at Mindanao Medical Center in General Santos.

The place of incident was revealed to be always rainy.

 
There's something petty about holding an umbrella over your head at this scene, to guard against getting wet, when the six poor people lying on the road are both dead AND wet. Maybe, as a token of respect, you should instead hold your umbrella over one of the unfortunate deceased, who can't protect themselves.
