Businessman killer in Bulgaria

This is old news from November 6, 2007. There have been many murders since, and they never catch the killer because the mafia and the government are one and the same.

Manol Velev who was shot is still paralyzed and can't talk.

This is a nightmare, he would have been better off dead.

He requires 24/7 assistance now.

Last month we had elections and people turned up to vote in huge numbers. The new government has fired all corrupt officials and we hope to see them in jail.

Some government ministers were linked with mafia boses here and now they are gonna put them behind bars, I hope.

But the way the correct spelling is Sofia, not Sophia.

If you come to Europe, all road signs are Sofia, not Sophoa which is reserved for the female name and the church.

Because of its growning population, we are not the 12th largest city in the EU.

The city is named after the Sophia Church, a 14th century building which withstood earhquakes and WW2 bombings.

The church was build over the spot where Christians were slaughtered back in 311 (4th century).

The original building didn't survive.

There is aslo a big statue towering high above other buildings right in the center of the city named after the Godess Sofia.
