sure it was a crocodile ? alligators are not aggressive when they see you they will leave. they have them where i live but crocodiles are different they are aggresive they mean bussiness

but also gators have been known to attack small dogs if they are up on the bank they will snatch them and if this kid was by the water or in the water and this gator was big enough they will take him.Years ago where i live a gator did take a small child and I have seen gators in busch gardens in tampa like 15 18 ft huge It was so huge it looked fake and it just lied there never moved
