Great post Connor - and an interesting example of post mortem lividity - the red purple staining that occurs after death - caused by the blood slowly sinking to the lowest areas of the body, - the red pigmentation of the pooloing and stationary red blood cells slowly leaks out into the tissue and stains it this colour. It looks like a bruise, but isn't. In this case this young man has been lying face down - so he shows the stains on his face, chest and abdomen.
