Their source dosn't cite any sources, does anyone here have any comment on where this number comes from?

They probably pulled that number out of their ass and are betting on no one bothering to call them out on the source. At 1K deaths a year from AEA, I would've expected a few of those death scene pics leaked to CDG for my jackoff material needs...
