October 4, 2010.
Early morning passenger train en route from Belgrade to Sofia collides head on with another train travelling on the same track.
Rail traffic controller made a fatal mistake by letting two trains on the same track.
The trains were going full speed and just minutes from disaster dispatchers rang the engine drivers to stop because a collision was imminent.
Passangers were unaware of a possible wreck.
With full brakes on the locomotives smacked head-on but a low speed.
The result - more than twenty people in hospital with broken limbs but no fatalities.
If the trains drivers hadn't been warned and the engines smack full speed this would have been a major train wreck with many dead.
