On the night of October 1, 2017, a mass shooting took place at the 4th annual Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Paradise, Nevada.
During a closing performance by singer Jason Aldean, a shooter fired into the crowd on a Las Vegas Boulevard 15-acre lot from the 32nd floor of the neighboring Mandalay Bay resort.
The shooter was identified as 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock, of Mesquite, Nevada, who was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
With more than 58 fatalities and 500 injuries, this is the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States.
