Three riders have died due to injuries sustained in crashes during the 2017 Isle of Man TT, in separate incidents in less than 24 hours between June, 6th and 7th.






Davey Lambert, 48


Davey Lambert, from Gateshead, England, was killed Tuesday evening after he was injured during a Superbike race on Sunday. Lambert had been racing on the Isle of Man's Snaefell Mountain Course since 2014.











Jochem Van Derek Hoek, 28


Jochen Van den Hoek, from Werkendam, Holland, was killed during a Superstock race at the Isle of Man TT Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on the first lap of the race, according to an official statement.
Van dek Hoek came in 27th place in a Superbike race on Sunday, leaving him with a bronze replica, according to the official statement. According to Motorsport, Van dek Hoek made his Isle of Man TT debut just last year.








Alan Bonner, 33


Alan Bonner, from County Meath, Ireland, died after crashing at the 33rd Milestone on the Isle of Man TT's mountain area, according to an official statement.Bonner held the title of fastest ever Irish TT rider after a lap of 127.090 miles per hour in 2015.






 
The only reason I can imagine for wanting to compete in these death traps is the prize money...if it's in the millions. Even then, the riders would need to accept that they are as likely to die as to become wealthy. Now Tiger Woods had the right idea. Just stroll around the beautiful greens and bring home a billion dollars.
