I paid attention to this partially because there was a good looking guy in the cover.
This is a NY Times report about an Egyptian guy from a middle class family, educated, gym rat, with good perspectives. Something happened after the coup against Egyptian revolution in 2013, which set him on a deadly path of radical islamic teachings. He ended up joining ISIS.
This report raises debates about social reasons for the violence in the Middle East. If there wouldn't be that much governmental oppression together with poverty and crime, there wouldn't be any soil for ISIS.
