39-year-old Odessa Refamonte was facing estafa (fraud) and illegal recruitment charges when she was shot to death at 1:45 PM on October 4, 2017 along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Philippines. Here's the full description:

Woman shot dead in Davao City

A WOMAN, who was previously sued for illegal recruitment, was killed on Wednesday afternoon, October 4, by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen along JP Laurel Avenue, in front of Cybergate, Davao City. Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan identified the victim as Odessa Refamonte, 39, married and a resident of Kalubihan in Kabacan, Matina Bucana, Davao City. Initial investigation showed that the victim was onboard a taxicab going to an establishment located along JP Laurel Avenue for an appointment with a male companion around 1:45 p.m. Upon disembarking, two men on a motorcycle approached, and the back rider disembarked and shot the woman from behind, killing her on the spot. Sta. Ana Police Station chief Nolan Raquid revealed that the suspect had an estafa and illegal recruitment cases in 2014 after enticing two siblings to pay for processing fee for employment in Japan. The case was reported by SunStar Davao on December 17, 2014. Police investigators are looking into the link between Refamonte's death and the killing of a former court employee and stenographer Imelda Apole in Davao City last August 30, 2016. Apole, who was assigned at the Regional Trial Court Branch 11 in Davao City was killed on her way home along Tadeco Road in New Visayas, Davao City. "Sa una kining si Refamonte, gituring niya nga amo 'to ang napatay nga si Imelda Apole, katong former stenographer, as alleged naa sila'y mga raket sa una kaning recruitment (Refamonte regarded Apole as her boss. It appears that they were moonlighting in recruitment activities)," Chief Inspector Raquid said. Charles Nalzaro, who was with the victim, told policemen that Refamonte was his church mate and that he only accompanied Refamonte on his way to the a banl near the crime scene to process papers for work abroad. After shooting the victim on her chest, the suspects escaped towards Plainview Street in Barangay Wilfredo Agdao, Davao City. Investigation is still ongoing to determine the motive of the suspects as well as their identities. "So far padayon atong investigation sa kaso, ug dili lang kini nga anggulo, daghan pa 'ta og ma-consider nga angle para mahibal-an gyud nato ang hinungdan sa kremin (Our investigation continues and we are considering many angles)," Raquid said.

22-year-old Ma. Donnabelle Boco Larioque was stabbed to death by her 23-year-old boyfriend Ronnel Maraginot in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines on September 21, 2017. Here's the full description:

Yesterday, a 22 year old woman was killed by her inflamed beau outside her apartment in Sto. Niño Extension Street.
Investigation shows the victim, Ma. Donabelle [Boco] Larioque a resident of Hernani Eastern Samar is already in a 'complicated' relationship status with her boyfriend and suspect Ronell Maraguinot, 22 years old from Palo Leyte when the crime transpired.
Police said the suspect, armed with a bladed weapon went to the victim's apartment to have their 'complicated' status be settled but turned into a heated argument instead.
"Nakikigbulag na an babaye pero nadire an lalaki kay first love niya". A Police investigator said.
Following the argument the suspect stabbed her 'dearest' several times on the different parts of her body that resulted to her instant death.
Then, an almost a-Romeo-and-Juliet-alike scenario sets in after the suspect stabbed himself in the stomach, however he survived and is now under observation.
A case for murder is now being prepared against the suspect.
