The headless body was identified as 17-year-old Richelle Retubale Sagang, of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte, daughter of farmer Noel Sagang and Helen Retubale. She left her hometown about two years ago to work as a housemaid at Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila.

Unidentified Female Cadaver

At about 6:00 o’clock in the morning of June 28, 2016, a phone call received by this Office from Brgy. Captain Ernesto Macato of Brgy. Paddad Alicia, Isabela informing that a Female cadaver was seen lying at the grassy area of the road side along Paddad-Rizal Road in Prk 6 Brgy. Paddad Alicia, Isabela. Personnel of this Police Station immediately proceeded at the said place to verify the veracity of said report. Upon arrival thereat, responding personnel of this office personally saw the body of the victim. Initial investigation reveals that a certain Jun Briones y Salazar, 41 years old, married and a resident of Brgy. Paddad Alicia, Isabela who was jogging along Paddad-Rizal Road towards National Highway discovered/noticed the Female cadaver at the said place prompted him to report it to their Barangay Chairman. The unidentified female cadaver [now identified as Jonalinda Viernes] described as approximately 4’6-5’0 feet tall, wearing black long sleeve, black short pants, wearing silver ring at her right ring finger, wearing silver bracelet on her left arm with tribal tattoo in her back (Upper butt), with flower tattoo below on her shoulder back portion, her legs, arm, and mouth was tied by a brown packaging tape. SOCO team from Santiago City Processed the crime Scene and they able to recover thereat one empty shell and one fired slug of caliber 45. The cadaver was brought to Benigno Funeral Homes.

22-year-old student teacher Criza Quezada Libuen was found dead on a river in Brgy. San Antonio, Bangued, Abra, Philippines on January 14, 2017. She was tortured with burning cigarette butts, raped, and shot two in the head.

Unfortunately, the crime scene photos are not public. So, the quality is poor. Also, there are funeral photos of her, but none of them show her dead face. Justice for her :(

"A dead woman was found stuffed into a sack [of rice] on the roadside in Bangued, Abra. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her body. A woman is still unidentified and was between 25 and 28 years old. But, a handkerchief was found with the stitched name "Gemmalyn". A placard was also found beside her dead body with the inscription: "ADIK AKO" [I am an addict]. According to police, the woman was killed on the other place before dumping her there.

"The Sad Tale of the Last Tokhang Case for 2016 in the Cordillera
THE body was found by Ronel Laureta, a young farmer, while walking to his farm a day after Christmas in Sitio Laplapog, Barangay Bangbangar, Bangued, Abra. He noticed a sack along the side of the road and opened it. He found the body and immediately called the police. By 8 AM, the police were there.
The body was that of a young female, wearing a violet shirt and red short pants. The girl suffered several gunshot wounds all over her body. Police also found ligature marks on her neck, which meant she could have been strangled.They found in one of her pockets a red handkerchief with “Gemmalyn” embroidered on it. Also found in her pocket were coins amounting to twelve pesos and a small stuffed toy.
What made her a Tokhang victim was the cardboard message, ADIK AKO, placed on top of the sack which Laureta found.The body was brought to Pineda Funeral Parlor, Zone 5, Bangued, Abra. As you spend your New Year with your family, think of her and more who would follow her way.*"
