What you are seeing is not necessarily decomposition. In many rivers and other bodies of water reside animals that are meat eaters. If the body was in the tropics, in may have been cleaned by piranhas. Other fish eat meat also. Turtles like meat and there are various birds that will eat meat. In some places the bones can be picked clean in a matter of hours.
The appearance of the corpse suggests to me that it was dinner.
