That seems like a rather definitive statement of the existence of a hell. Where's the proof? I can't say that I know of anyone who has been there previously nor have I seen any scientific evidence that such a place could exist. I am trying to be open minded to your arguments for the existence of such a place. But, mankind has been around for thousands of years, has seen to the edge of the universe and has measured subatomic particles. Science has explained what some people still don't understand. Its surprising how many people don't even know what electricity is except that it makes their TV work. Now, we are assembling a lot of evidence that there are countless other planets in the universe where intelligent life may exist. For everything that we have accomplished, there is no definitive explanation of heaven or hell. So please tell us how you know so much about hell. What are your references?

The Proof ,they all in the Holey coran ,coran was write by God ,with a extremly exelent arabic language ,Humain can't do this ,and s lot of europien and american scientifi enter in Islam ,after they found a great research in coran

S-C what are you smokin'? Can I have some? Seriously dude, you have been so indoctrinated by your ghastly religion which kills for the sake of having some booty up in your fictitious heaven. So you consider yourself a good muslim running a gore site, and being turned on by this shit? LOL :smirk:

watching Gore is not banned in islam ,yeah watching porn is banned Lol ,i don't consider my self i am good muslim

good muslim are very very rare

So what If I'm basically a good person but not muslim?

the No Muslim good people ,the people who beleive in God (Christian and some jew) they will be tortured in hell for million years and years ,but aftermath they will be enter in paradis

-Atheist if are good or not,They will be Tortured for Eternel Life ,torture never end ! and watching happy people in Paradis :)

:5 stars::excellent:

That was amazing and hilarious to read.

Muslim kids are brainwashed from early on, very sad, satanic is obviously no exception.

ok ,you will remember me all what i say in Hell ,in judgment day you will be trying to kill me because i can't convinced you to belive in this

Don't be so sure, S-C, you might be sure you'll go to your fictitious heaven so you can grovel at your evil egocentric god, but let's get one of the imams in Iran to give an opinion on your gore blog and the fact that you like boys and see what they have to say. As in all Abrahamic religions, your god (and theirs), sanction stoning gays to death. Wonder if you can stone yourself to speed things up to see if you can get up to your heaven and fuck those 72 virgin girls that you have absolutely no interest in... :too hard to take:

I have little time for religion in modern life. In ages past it sometimes served as a useful moral bulwark against the unbridled power of rulers but, like all forms of influence it has become more about controlling ther masses. Today, religious politicians are a major threat to free speech and thought everywhere. The sooner we consign these ancient superstitions to history the better.

I don't know what happens after death but...

Reason and logic strongly suggests that death is a dreamless sleep. All that we experience and think is interpreted in our brains. Once the brain is dead there is nothing.

Religious beliefs and faith in an afterlife are stories we tell ourselves to explain that which we cannot understand and that which we fear.

Thunder was once the gods fighting. Earthquakes were the movement of the giant underworld serpent. Fossils are planted by God to disguise the fact that everything was actually created by Him in six days. Disease was a curse by your local neighbourhood witch.

Open-minded reason and study advances much more sensible explanations for phenomena like this where evidence can be collected. If death is an end, an unknowable blackness, there’s no evidence to be collected. Most people seem to find that unsatisfying, and look to hear reassuring stories. Convincing stories have become religions.

Clearly it pays to run a successful religion. The rich can keep the poor in their place by promising the poor riches in heaven, and implying punishment for the undeserving rich. (But the rich can become deserving rich, to be feted in heaven, by giving money to their church – check out all the glittery churches, mosques, and temples.) This seems to work, but is surely irrational. “Give me your money and I’ll give it back next week with ten per cent interest” is a deal worth considering. “Give me your money and you’ll get it back tenfold in the next life” sounds like a con.

Religions are also handy for political aggrandisement. They tell you who to hate. Your answer to the question of life, the universe and everything is, by definition, the only correct answer, having been dictated by your God. Therefore, anyone who has a different belief has been misled by the Devil and is evil; they must be converted or killed.

It’s not just Catholics and Protestants, Muslims and Christians, Jews and Christians, Muslims and Jews, Hindus and Muslims, etc etc. There’s money to be made in promoting schisms and starting successful sects, so various parts of the main religions hate each other – Sunnis and Shiites, Evangelists and Church of England protestants, progressive and orthodox Jews, etc etc.

Unfortunately, given that the Abrahamic religions were founded at times when the need to grow population was paramount, and each religion depends on early brainwashing of children to expand its financial base, they all agree to hate gay people. Procreate or die is the underlying message – we need an expanding next generation to make our power base secure.

Given a planet home of finite resources, this is not a currently helpful philosophy.

Is it possible to live a life without belief in an afterlife? It should be. Most people seem to feel good if they do good. Not in a selfish calculating way –“if I help this little old lady across the road that’s worth two reward points for my place in heaven” – but because getting a smile of thanks brightens up your day. If you believe life is all there is, reason suggests you should do as much to make it good not just for yourself but for everyone, and for people in the future; co-operation, rather than competition, in all things.

Such a utopia, of course, is not entirely compatible with the CDG fantasy world. While laws would be needed in a rational world, the emphasis of retribution for wrong doing would be on rehabilitation. If life is all there is, there is no justification for removing it, legally or otherwise.

Is it worth the loss of pleasure that can be obtained by contemplating the possibility of being employed as an executioner – or of being yourself strapped in to the electric chair, or being shot, or being noosed?

So, long live religion. Hate and kill ‘the other’, preferably with HD video recordings. Sacrifice yourself to your cause, with as much pain and suffering as you can manage – get nailed to a cross, burnt at the stake, or suffer prolonged torture culminating in having your head sawn off.

Enjoy your eternal afterlife. This might be sitting in fields playing a harp surrounded by others all wearing white smocks. Live a different life and you get to be tortured daily, naked, in a hot and sweaty environment, before your resurrected body (according to renaissance painting, the body of a twenty-something hunk) is remade for the following day’s slicing, skewering and boiling in oil. (The choice as to which is heaven and hell is yours.) Islam suggests that if you martyr yourself while murdering as many of the enemy – Jews, Christians, other Muslims, Atheists, gays – as you can, you get to enjoy seventy virgins in the afterlife, presumably for the sex that the religion denies you in life.

Personally I think I would have found the promise of seventy very experienced, expert and attractive sex workers more persuasive, but, hey, that’s just me.

Whatever, we have human nature as well as human reason, and it’s rare that the latter can overcome the former without great effort, so religion is likely to be around for a while.

Sorry to have rambled on so much. If you’re offended, please let me know how you intend to slaughter me in the name of your God (or in the name of brevity). I guess it would only be fair for me to agree to submit to the most imaginative method.

:not sure::not sure:Fascinating discussion. I found this new article on-line today titled "What happens when you die."

It tells about those who have had near death situations and their "out of body" experiences ... going down a tunnel into a bright light, floating, feeling as one with the Universe.

I'd be interested what yous guys make of this phenomenon. I've heard of this many times before but not for a while. Also a video in this link, too.

A brain-based neurological response or evidence of life beyond death?

Both phenomena are definitely neurological responces.

Out-of-body experiences can be evoked in any person at any time in a laboratory with the proper brain stimulation (I forget whether that is by trans cranial magnetic stimulation or otherwise). I'd really like to experience that sometime; subjects (healthy people) report they feel they are 'standing' about a foot BEHIND their bodies. Cool! Other experiments have been done (putting clear drawings on top of cupboards in operating rooms, and people who claim they 'left their body' and could see themselves lying on the operating table from a great height can never say what was on such a drawing (not surprising, they didn't take their eyeballs up there with them!).

The tunnel-and-bright-light experiences are doubtless real, but scientific concensus seems to be that it is an artifact of the oxygen starved dying brain. A general feeling of resignation, calmness, serenity and peace is reported by many people who believe their last moment has suddenly come (in traffic accidents for example). Of course they are mistaken about actually dying otherwise they couldn't tell us anymore, but apparently the sudden feeling 'OMG now I'm done for' has that effect in many people.

Neither phenomenon is any realistic indication of an afterlife. I do think death is eternal peace, but I'm afraid I won't enjoy it.

A very thoughtful response, PC. Anyone else have any ideas about this "out-of-body" phenemon?

Now let's consider this: if this be a neurological response rather than any sign of life beyond death, it is still quite remarkable, eh?

Our brains themselves and all the chemical interactions therein are really quite phenomenal just based on the basic science of this gadget.

NOW .. here we go. HOW did we come to have such phenemonal brains? And larger still, how did all that we have around us, under us and above us come to be?? How can nothing produce nothing?? Do you follow??

I mean, 0 + 0 = 0.

Sooo .. how do you explain ourselves, all the animals, plant and insect life on this planet, the planet itself not to mention galaxies after galaxies after galaxies after galaxies after galaxies above us?? How did all those planets and stars (actuallly suns) come to be??

????

Something CREATED it ALL??? A Creator ??? On pure logic discarding ALL theological and eschatological considerations, focusing purely on cosmological
considerations, something had to make and get all of this going. NO answers
as of yet as to what THAT something is ... despite mankind trying to figure this
cosmoligical issue out from prehistoric man to high tech astronomical telescopes, satellites, space probes and computers.

I postulate that these cosmological issues have to be considered in all of this. Choose to call the Creator concept just a lot of superstitious controlling bunk ... STILL how or how do you then explain HOW IT all came to be....without some mighty huge highly intelligent and creative force???

How ??

Here I am a senior and I still don't know about after death. Does it matter? I believe in a God but not at all convinced by the stories of a heaven and hell.

Hey Arrowbuddy, I'd LOVE to know the answers to those questions !
I sometimes wish I were born a few centuries later and then learn all the scientific progress I'll miss when I die :green grin:.

Without seeming to be a pedantic prick (just prick :horny: will do), a few thoughts on some of the issues you raise:
HOW did we come to have such phenemonal brains? And larger still, how did all that we have around us, under us and above us come to be?? Sooo .. how do you explain ourselves, all the animals, plant and insect life on this planet, How can nothing produce nothing??
Science has completely cleared up the whole 3.5 billion year history of life on earth, except for the very beginning. Since Darwin, who didn't even know about DNA yet, the evolution of life on earth has been described in staggering detail, and the rate at which this body of knowledge increases nowadays is gigantic (DNA sequencing is now routine and cheap, and DNA from fossils can be studied now). Science does NOT yet know how 'life' started, but I'm very confident that will be cleared up in my lifetime! "God" and vaguer versions of 'creators' or 'intelligent-designers' have been completely banished from this area except for the very beginning, and their days there are numbered!

the planet itself not to mention galaxies after galaxies after galaxies after galaxies after galaxies above us?? How did all those planets and stars (actuallly suns) come to be??
Cosmology has had similar successes as evolution: we know to a great extent how stars form, burn and explode or extinguish, and how they create heavy atoms and planetary systems in the process. We now know the universe is swarming with earth-like planets! I wonder if they have CDGs there too. In cosmology too, gods, creators and intelligent-designers have been exiled from their former domains, again with the exception of the very beginning. If there was a Big Bang (this is NOT clear yet), what caused it? But cosmology is now grappling with dark matter (about a quarter of the mass of the cosmos is 'missing') and dark energy (more than half of the cosmos!), and physics has still not succeeded in reconciling quantum and relativity theories. Physics and cosmology are far from finished, and we'll all be amazed by the progress they'll make in the next 40 years.

Choose to call the Creator concept just a lot of superstitious controlling bunk ... STILL how or how do you then explain HOW IT all came to be....without some mighty huge highly intelligent and creative force???
I have no sympathy for people, who run into a question that nobody can answer (yet), throw up their hands and wail "it must be a miracle/God's work/... or other baloney. I'm very happy that even theologians despise this "God-of-the-holes" attitude. No wonder, God and other magicians are constantly expelled from yet another hole as soon as science does fill it. There's plenty room for God and other supernatural entities, but not in the non-supernatural.

I firmly believe in the potential of scientific research to find out what's really true and what is just myth and humbug.
An excellently written and beautifully and richly illustrated book I recommend:

Hey PC mate,

Excellent replies, thanks for all the deep reflection and posting this all. I applaud yous!

Now mate, we agree on this, for certain: something or some something just had to get all of this we see below us, on ground and above us a going. Absolutely, science has explained much and much more will still be revealed. Yet mate, I do believe that some questions just defy any answers.

Of course, this does not mean that we just say "ok" and leave it at that. We have minds and brains that allow such explorations, so on we go to try to figure it out.

Yet mate, how can that which is finite fully comprehend infinity? And mate, stop and just think about it all for a moment. Who is to say that everyday a person shows some act of kindness, some act of grace, some act of giving, some act of helping is not originating from a much deeper space?

Mate, two quotes come to mind in all of this. I am not using such quotes to "preach" at yous or anyone! I just ask yous to consider these two quotes ... and to think how well they reflect the human condition and where we are in The Vast, Never-Ending Cosmos:

"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known."
1 Corinthians 12:13

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

In other words, mate, for now all we can really do is imperfectly see and only partially understand. But the time will come when we perfectly know anc be fully also known for who we totally are.

It all comes down to faith, which though it cannot be seen, all around us plenty abounds that can be seen, giving us hope that whatever got all of this a going, there is going to be so so so so so very much more to yet be.

Mate, we could debate this topic for a very long time and come to no complete resolution.

You choose not to believe that there is anything more than this while I choose to believe quite the otherwise.

I make no claim to special prophecies and fully admit I am weak and most human in my short-comings. Neverthless, I forage onward in the daily struggle and mate, my focus is more often above rather below, more often of light rather than darkness, more often of forgiveness rather than condemnation. The struggle continues, the journey continues .. and the hope through faith lives on.

This may make absolutely no sense, mate, and that's OK. It makes sense to me and I am priviliged to share this all with such a deeply thinking and bright kindred man as yous.

Cheers.

I'd love to do that with you nevertheless, over a few good pints of beer. Not arriving at any definite answer is no problem!

Yup. Ain't it great that's possible? I think there's plenty of room for people to believe in God (or whatever they like to call it/her/him), just not in the non-supernatural. And if we respect each other's unprovable views, we have peace and understanding as well! While we're at it, let's throw all religious intolerant folk out of legislation and justice too. We humans don't need popes or ayatollahs to tell us what's morally right or not, let alone have them make or enforce the law!

my focus is more often above rather below, more often of light rather than darkness, more often of forgiveness rather than condemnation. The struggle continues, the journey continues ..
Amen. Thanks for sharing your views, and while we're alive let's enjoy some harmless hot fantasies. Love, PC.

Arrowman, I have a simple question. I do not have the vocabulary that you have and do not pretend to have the brainpower that your posts show you to have. And please do not take this as disrespect. But if you are a self-described Christian, why do you come here? I do not ask this out of ignorance, but out of sincere curiosity.

Very inciteful question, Bindiboi. So I will answer on this Good Friday morning.

You see, how I understand the Big Picture is that WE ALL have fallen short of the glory of God. Each and every one of us.

And in this world, we are cast about between both The Angels and The Demons. There are many temptations, both temporal (of this place and time) and spiritual.

This CDG place documents first-hand many of the darker places in and of this world, this temporal sphere. Dark places and dark circumstances instigated by
very real dark, wicked principals (players).

So here IT presents itself on a day by day basis. And given our fallen natures, there IS a power, an affinity so to say, to LOOK AT IT and SEE IT, to even become excited by IT.

However, what we see here is by far NOT the realm of total existence. Yes, there is darkness .. yet there is also LIGHT. There is suffering yet there is also JOY. There is brokenness yet there is also HEALING. There is war yet there is also PEACE. There is death yet there is also L I F E .

Sooo what we see here at CDG is only HALF the picture. NOT the total tamale, so to say.

Good Friday which is also called Black Friday(today) in The Christian Church is the epitome of this great contrast. The tragic day that Jesus was crucified by the life-negating powers of this world. DEATH, DESTRUCTION, BETRAYAL, HOPELESSNESS, DESPAIR, TRAGEDY and DARKNESS is The Rule of This Day (Black Friday).

YET ... something HUGE happens in this narrative in just a few days hence. A massive transition, a mega change, "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye" as it has been described in verse and in song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYTQ6gpcuYA&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL83004A77BDE1FE12

WHAT AM I DOING HERE at CDG ??? It is my fallen nature. Yet the struggle continues, the sojourn slogs on, as THIS what is documented here is NOT the total picture. It just ain't.

There is yet another day. Today be BLACK Friday, a CDG kinda Friday. Powerful yet at the core truly TRAGIC and HOPELESS, really is.

So what else still is to be? I believe there will be a SUNDAY. A Good Sunday, a
Light-Filled Sunday, an uplifting and victorious Sunday, the FIRST Day of the NEW Week, of a New Beginning.

Friday will still be and Friday all who exist will experience. Yet there is also a Sunday, a Sunday, The DAY of SUN (light).

To walk more in The Light than The Darkness is the goal of the Christian faith. To be called to be a PLUS rather than a MINUS is what it is all about. And to ask for forgiveness all along the way, as a broken vessel, to see to be more whole.

The more such a walk into the Light continues, the more lit the path becomes and the more remote the darkness is. DARKNESS is still there, always is, and SO IS THE LIGHT.

Bindiboi, I look forward to the day when I will NOT be here at CDG. I look forward to the day when there will be NO cause for a CDG as there will be no more death and only LIFE.

The slog continues yet the very fact that this discussion is occurring here is extraordinary and I believe a matter of looking for MORE than darkness ... in whatever way that may be described.

I invite you all to seek out more Light in your lives. To better know The Light as we approach The Day of the Sun, of a Risen Son, of Easter Sunday.
