A youngster barely over 10 years old clutches a bottle of alcohol looted from a Sainsbury's Local store in Manchester city centre while his friends run away from the same shop with three bottles of strong Vodka.

The riots will pass but the UK will remain a fucked up nation with generation of amoral, uneducated, welfare dependent, brutalised youngsters.

Yup, that's us. We have so much to learn from the deeply moral, highly-educated, hard-working and unemployment-free, gentle kind-hearted non-drinking Bulgarians. Meatpie tells it like it is.

:5 stars:

There is massive unemployment here, I've said it many times, education no longer guarantees you a job and a bright future.

The world has changed dramatically in just a few years.

The UK has deep social problems, and it's going to get worse.

So long as you have an elite in this country things will only get worse. The government say that poor people were paid too much in benifits. It was because of that that we had no riots as bad as this for thirteen years. In come the tories and the first people they hit are the poor and the unemployed. Most of the Government front bench are millionaires and have no fucking idea what it is to be poor and unemployed.
The riots are wrong and what has happened is shocking. All those who took part should be punished. There is no excuse for it. What the government should do is to get to the bottom of the problems and not make them worse.
There is no respect for the police anymore.

I'm sorry but this has little to do with poverty and mostly to do with greed and lack of respect for other people and their property. All those who say that these guys are doing it because they're poor are talking CRAP. These riots were organized by the vermin on their Blackeberries - costing hundreds of pounds to buy and more to run. Who goes and spends that sort of money on such gear if they're poor, disadvantaged, underpriviledged youngsters. They're rats and should be strung up like rats !

These guys grew up under the last LABOUR GOVERNMENT which was responsible for these rioters lack of good morals, lack of opportunities - look how they suppressed discussion on immigration. They were happy to let them come in to provide cheap labour rather than encourage youngsters to work in menial jobs. The truth is that most of these youngsters would rather be given welfare than to go and work in one of these low status jobs !

String the bastards up !

I agree with stuffedick, I am not from the UK but from pics and vids I've seen those looters didn't look poor at all.

and not to mention - they talk funny!
looks like the Queen has all the bucks. bet one of her crowns would go far to reduce poverty. how much was spent on yet another 'royal wedding'??? oh well - priorities, i guess!
just start eating each other - that will reduce poverty and hunger i'll bet!

According to Councilor Lynne Feathestone of the London Borough of Haringey, "The community of Tottenham is a model of the perfected Liberal multi-cultural community" And she went on to say...."And anyone who disputes this proud acheivement, is clearly a racist and xenephobic and should be ashamed of themselves".

Just for the record, as a resident living on the edge of the volcano described as "the perfected Liberal multi-cultural community" ...I'm in agreement with Meatpie :-(

One of the looters caught in Manchester was actually training to be a lawyer. Another had a football scholarship.

Moment EDL bus is attacked by dozens of Asian men hurling bricks

Moment EDL bus is attacked by dozens of Asian men hurling bricks and traffic cones after breaking down as it returned from London rally

A coachload of English Defence League supporters were attacked by around 100 Asian youths with missiles when their bus broke down in Tower Hamlets, East London, on its return from a violent rally. The black and yellow bus, carrying around 44 EDL members who were later arrested, was showered with stones as angry teenagers threw traffic cones and bricks, shattering the windows of the bus.

1: education no longer guarantees you a job and a bright future.
2: The world has changed dramatically in just a few years.
3: The UK has deep social problems, and it's going to get worse.

Agree with Meatpie on 2 and 3, but NOT on 1 (on second thoughts actually I fear he may be right there technically too, but I strongly feel that:) education still is and will in the future only increase in importance as being your BEST CHANCE to get a better job and brighter future!

you ever think it could be the tories using the same techniques that have worked in the past to impose tyranny while giving the richest groups whatever they demand. same as the states.

Well I live less than 10 miles from where this is, so trust me this kind of happening is NOT the norm in England!

Hey ScootzMate...

Has it quieted down now around where you live in England? We don't hear about this civil unrest here in the USA anymore, but that does not necessarily mean that all is calm and tranquil.
