Hunger mortality statistics



On average, a person dies every second as a result of starvation - 3,600 every hour - 86,400 each day - 31,536,000 million each year - 58% of all deaths (2001-2004 estimates).
On the average, a child under five dies every 5 seconds as a result of starvation - 700 every hour - 16,000 each day - 6 million each year - 60% of all child deaths (2002-2008 estimates).

When a person dies they become food for another starving person. But the world is so shy about cannibalism. :P

The world is so overpopulated with humans though, it's natural so many fail at survival, but it's still somewhat sad. I wonder how many die from it in America though, our government doesn't really allow people to starve and try to feed other countries.

I'm not for cannibalism. However the problem of hunger, specially in the developing world will only get worse as arable land and water continue their decline.

A lot of people in 3rd world countries and such suffer the sad fate of dieing from diarrhea too cuz their water is so polluted.
