Fake Blood

Any got a recipe for fake blood?

Have you ever used it in role playing.

Yes, I have. You can make copius amouns of fake blood from concentrated cherry juice, they sell them in 1 litre bottles at supermarkets, it's thick, dark red and can be cleaned easily with water if the scene gets messy.

It's excellent for play, if it gets in your mouth it's sweet and harmless, try it.

A common fake blood used in film is made from corn syrup. By adding red and black food coloring at different ratios, you can make arterial blood which is oxygenated and bright red with a little black or venous blood which is red with more black in it to make it look oxygen starved. Food coloring paste will give better pigmentation.

The clear corn syrup looks like lymphatic fluid but should be cut with a little water to make it thinner than blood. A deep wound usually puts out varying ratios of these fluids depending on what is cut. Burns usually have more lymphatic fluid. Keep in mind that this is an active medium which runs. It is not good for costume makeup and ambient air temperature affects the flow rate.

If you have a dog, it can be very helpful with cleanup.
