Meat - i'm glad you use this site to also inform those who might not give a shit about what happens in this world other than just pixs of C D G's. Of all the ways to go, being suddenly squished into a flat piece of meat under tons of upper floors would be one of the worst. You're a good man, Charlie Brown!

Thank you, we have lots of interesting threads on disasters but also on politics and science topics, check our "Great Debates" section, I am sure you will enjoy some of the threads there as well. Cheers.

I feel sad every time I hear people getting killed in an earthquake, I've been through several myself and it's absolutely scary especially in tall buildings.

There is a good chance I might get trapped/killed in an earthquake, how does one possibly prepare for that? No country is 100% safe from earthquakes.

Coming from a earthquake nation totally understand.
Since the New Zealand earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 in Christchurch, I am more on edge and one way I cope is mentally try and figure escape routes in new places, if I can escape that is.

A story of the 2011 earthquake that sticks in my mind is the 5 survivors who survived for 12 hours in the rubble and died suddenly due to the rubble collapsed on them and how a few survivors died in the flames and may even have drowned in attempts to put the fire out.

I am hoping for a quick death in a earthquake.
